Dieting:
Dieting has become almost a way of life for many people. The incidence of overweight has increased the world over due to poor eating habits, busy lifestyles and lack of physical exercise. Rather than diet, lifestyle changes are necessary to build in the proper mix of healthful food choices, activity levels and stress management. The problem with dieting is that if a person “goes on a diet” then if stands to reason that one day they will “go off” the diet. Whatever weight loss has occurred is lost usually with a substantial gain in not only weight but body fat index as well. I believe that to control your weight it is essential to understand the association between food choices, mood and life stressors. Being in a difficult relationship, experiencing job or financial stress, parenting problems, feeling isolated and physical illness can lead to unhealthy eating habits.
